Michelle, Vancouver BC
Tell us about yourself.
Hey! I'm Michelle. I'm the Customer Care manager here at Vessi. While originally from Argentina, Vancouver has been my home for the last 7 years.
I'm a passionate thrifter (Value Village is my go-to!) who's currently obsessed with skincare, and is also an avid sour cream and onion chips consumer.
Tell us about your #MakeWaves project.
My project is about finding a way to funnel funds back into my community, and keeping it there. I'm hoping to purchase online gift cards from local independent grocery/food stores, and then donate that to friends and neighbours who have lost their income and might need a little helping hand.
What inspired you?
My own life experience. While lucky enough to not be going through that now, there was a time I lived without a financial back up and can still remember how stressful that was.
Who are you trying to impact?
Anyone who needs it! Everyone involved in what I'm aiming to do are having a hard time, small businesses needing customers to stay afloat and individual people worried about money. I'm hoping this can bring them all some relief.
Why is this important to you?
Life is really freaking hard right now, and we can all use some help - whatever that looks like. Money, a kind word, or even reading a smile-inducing story online.
Your message to the community.
This too shall pass. We might walk out tattered and in need of a hug, but we will walk out of it.
