Tell us a little about yourself!
I am a nurse in Edmonton, Alberta. I have a 17 month old daughter at home, as well as my wonderful husband.
This pandemic has been incredibly challenging. Working on the front lines brings anxiety, and it is hard to find an escape from it. I am looking forward to kicking it's butt so we can return to a new normal!
Tell us about your #MakeWaves project.
This pandemic has reminded me how important it is to take care of each other.
I want to use this money to spread joy and kindness. I want to drop off a piece of cheesecake for my best friend who is having a bad day, or pay it forward in the Starbucks drive thru, or buy groceries for the terrified senior in front of me at the store. I want to distract people from this scary time, even for a second and remind them that kindness and happiness still exists.
How would you like your project to impact your community?
I want to make an impact on my friends and family, coworkers, random people, anybody that I possible can.
Acts of kindness are something that has always brought me joy and it is something that people need during this difficult time. I read a post on my local page about somebody paying for another persons groceries at the store and how ecstatic the lady was. This post brought on comments about making other peoples day, and restoring their faith in humanity.
I think my project could bring so much joy to people, and that would make me so happy This project would be such a great distraction from the constant pandemic stress. This is something I have always wanted to do but unfortunately, financially I am unable to do right now. If I was given this opportunity, I would spend every last cent making other people happy.
